THE DAY TIME STOOD STILL

Hellloooo  Dear Ones  :)   The last few entries have been quite serious, dealing with what I feel is the most important issue and decision of a persons life.  Sooo tonight I want to get on a lighter note, and bring smiles  :)  Here is a touching little story, and a funny little joke.  Enjoy, take care, God Bless....and  SMILE  :)

WINDSHIELD WIPER SERMON:

One rainy afternoon I was driving along one of the main streets of town, taking those extra precautions necessary when the roads are wet and slick.  Suddenly my son Matthew spoke up from his relaxed position in the front seat.  "Mom, I'm thinking of something."   This announcement usually meant he had been pondering some fact for a while and was now ready to expound all that his seven-year-old mind had discovered.  I was eager to hear.  "What are you thinking?" I asked.    "Well, the rain," he began, "is like sin.  And the windshield wipers are like God, wiping our sins away."    After the chill bumps finished racing up my arms, I was able to respond, "That's really good Matthew."  Then my curiosity broke in.  How far would this little boy take this revelation?  So I asked, "Do you notice how the rain keeps on coming?  What does that tell you?"    Matthew didn't hesitate one moment with his answer.  "We keep on sinning and God keeps on forgiving us."

I found this little story very profound.  If a 7 year old little boy can comprehend and "understand" the love of God, then why is it so difficult for adults to do the same?  Shows that little ones are at times more intelligent than us grown ups   huh   ;)    Like the saying goes...."Out of the mouth of Babes."

Now for the joke.  :)  Being a Mother of six children I really enjoyed this one... hope you do too.

THRU A CHILD'S EYES:

It was late at night and Heidi, who was expecting her second child, was home alone with her 3 year old daughter, Katelyn.  Heidi started going into labor, and called 911.  Due to power outage at the time, only one paramedic was able to respond to the call.  The house was very, very dark, so the paramedic asked Katelyn to hold a flashlight high over her mommy so he could see while he helped deliver the baby.  Very diligently, Katelyn did as she was asked.  Heidi pushed and pushed, and after a little while Conner was born.  The paramedic lifted him by his feet, and spanked him on his bottom, and Conner began to cry.  The paramedic then thanked Katelyn for her help, and asked the wide-eyed 3 year old what she thought about the miracle she had just witnessed.   Katelyn quickly responded , "He shouldn't have crawled in there in the first place, spank him again!"   ROFL ROFL !!!

Hello Dear Ones...yes it's been a while, once again my system was down...dern bugs and virus'.  Anyhow, I am back  :)   I want to address a question that has been asked of me..."What is your religion Kat?"    Welll...I confess that my faith is not based on a "religion" but a "relationship", though I DO attend an organized church (I will speak on the importance of that later).

You are very right Ionuca....there IS only one GOD, and man HAS created too many self-serving religions which is the main reason for the crumbling of man-kind.  Man kind has also replaced God with other idols that they worship...money, careers, television, computers, sports and their players, social status, and the list could go on and on.  That is why my faith is founded, based, and grounded in GOD, his word (the Bible), and the teachings of Jesus Christ.  The number one thing I live by is..."If it isn't in the Bible...I don't believe it."  I am a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ, and his teachings.  I look to how he lived his 33 years on this earth as an example of how I should live my life.  I read how he dealt with temptation, pain, sorrow, trauma (for he experienced all the sufferings we have, and more)  and I try to follow his way of dealing with it all.  I also look at his relationship with "God" and desire to have the same.  You see when I became saved, and filled with the Holy Spirit of God, my perception of God changed, and the relationship between he and I began to change.  He changed from an "Invisible Being" sitting on a throne some where in outer space with a giant hammer in hand waiting for me to mess up just so he could bop me on the head, then toss me into Hell for all eternaty....to being "real".  He is a loving, caring, gracious, merciful Father who yearns to have a close "relationship" with me and desires that I spend my eternity with him.  So when I am faced with the tests, trials, pain, sufferings, and temptations of this world...I turn to, and cry out to my "ABBA Father" (God) and my Saviour Jesus. 

 Think about it...we all know the difference between right and wrong.  When faced with a decision between doing right, and doing wrong...we all have that "little voice" trying to sway us to make the right decision...that is our "conscious" the Holy Spirit trying to lead us to choose right.  Then we also have that "little voice" that attempts to sway us to choose wrong...that is temptation from the devil attempting to sway us to choose wrong and sin, which then causes us to be separated from God.  It is a battle that rages within ALL of us. 

This is the best way I know how to describe my relationship with God....He is my "Father."   I am a Mother of six children and it is my desire that they all grow into obedient, law-abiding, successful, productive citizens.  For them to achieve that "I" must teach them, nurture them, and raise them in the correct way they should go.  When they do right, they get praised and rewarded.  When they do wrong, they are reprimanded and disciplined.  In my faith, God is my Parent.  When faced with choices I go into prayer to God asking his guidance, courage, and strength to make the right choice.  Always when I make the right choice there is peace, and the outcome is positive.  When I make the wrong choice, or I am faced with temptation to do what I know I shouldn't and I give in to the temptation, there is un-unsettledness in my spirit, guilt piles upon me, and the outcome is negative.  In my years of being a Christian I have had spiritual ups and downs.  There have been times when I have rebelled and strayed from God and my Lord Jesus' teachings (just as children rebel against their parents at some point in their life), and my life was dark, empty, full of misery and bitterness.  Then the quiet voice of my Heavenly Father would gently assure me that he was still there and was waiting for me to come back to him....and sure enough...when I would finally swallow my human pride, and go running back to him in repentance, God has always been there with complete forgiveness, and peace would once again be mine.  I have also found that when I am in God's will, and in obedience with his word...blessings in abundance are bestowed upon me.  The key is..."Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."

Hello one and all.  Sorry I left you hanging after my last entry, much has been going on, and my computer was down for a couple of days.   Well, I have turned into a dedicated blogger  ;)   I serf  daily through the blogs posted, and have bookmarked quite a few bloggers that I stay in touch with.  What has moved me the most is the despair, pain, loneliness, and total "lostness" of so many who are posted.  And so many are teens, and young adults. This really pains me because these young people are our future. They all seem to hit on the same topics..."what is the purpose of my life?"  "With the condition of the world today, whats the point in living?"  "I'm so empty, and lonely, why and where can I find real love?"  OOOO dear lost ones...there "is" purpose for your life, there "is" a reason to live, and there "is" a place to find real and lasting love.  All your answers can be found in the word of God...the "Bible".  And the fulfillment within your being can be found through salvation, which is accepting Jesus Christ as your redeemer, your savior. 

SEPARATION FROM GOD:

 God created us all to worship and commune (fellowship) with "him".  When we have not accepted Christ as our Saviour we are "lost", and we have a very empty feeling within our being.  That is because the Holy Spirit of the God that created us is missing within us...and it leaves a feeling of loneliness and despair.   The Bible says "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"  Romans 3:23(so see it's not just you dear ones)  so we all have a problem that separates us from God...and that problem is "sin" (an action or attitude that falls short of God's perfect standard).  The Bible also tells us that the end result of sin is death "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord"  Romans 6:23.  The truth is there is nothing that we ourselves can do to solve the problem of sin.  Sooo then, if "I" can do nothing to resolve this problem, whats the answer???  Is there no hope???  Are we doomed to hell being separated from God for all eternity???  No dear ones...there is hope

THE SOLUTION:

The Bible says there is a solution to the problem of sin, and that solution is the person Jesus Christ, God's only son.  You see God loves us so much that he sent Jesus to die in our place "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish (suffer eternal death) but have eternal life."  John 3:16.  The Bible says that Jesus paid the penalty for your sin so that you would not have to be eternally separated from God "This is love: Not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." 1John 4:10,  and that Jesus is the only solution for our sin problem "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6.  Salvation will not be forced upon anyone, that is part of us having "free will" but it is a "gift" being held out to you, and it is up to you to take that gift, and make it yours.  It is not enough to just "know about" Jesus and his death on the cross for you, you must choose to put your trust in Christ, to receive this free gift of salvation that God offers you.  "So,  how do I receive this gift?" you may be asking, the answer to that is up to the decision that you make.  You either decide to say "yes" to the free gift and feel peace, fulfillment, and complete love during your life here on earth, and most important... spend eternity with God our creator, or you decide to say "no" to his gift, and continue feeling empty, lost, in the pit of despair during your life here on earth... and worst of all...spend eternity in a place called hell separated from God.  The decision is yours.

SALVATION:

So dear ones...if you've never accepted God's offer of eternal life, I can think of no better time than right now for the Bible says "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.  I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:2.  If you would like to say yes to Christ, you can do it right now, wherever you are, whatever your doing.  This is the most important decision you'll ever make in your life.  Jesus said, "Come to me , all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."  He also said, "whoever comes to me I will never drive away."  So if you ask Him, you will be accepted.  The way believers talk to the Lord is through prayer.  Your prayer should be your own, from your heart to his, but I am providing a prayer that if prayed, and if believed in your heart when prayed, will bring you to the Father. 

Father in Heaven, I know that I am a sinner and need forgiveness.  I believe that Your Son Jesus died in my place, to pay the penalty for my sin, and rose again for my salvation.  I want to turn from my sinful ways, so I now ask you Lord Jesus, to come into my life as my Savior and my Lord.  I believe that through the blood of Jesus I am cleansed and have been forgiven, and I thank you.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

"Is that all there is too it?  Is it really that simple?"  you make ask...the answer is yes.  The Bible says "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."  So if you have asked him into your life, and believe He died to save you, you are a Christian, bound for Heaven. 

CONCLUSION:

The difficulties of living a Christian life in such a sinful world are many.  That is why it is essential that you now seek other sincere, Bible-believing Christians to help you stand firm in your new decision.  Both individual Christian friends, and a solidly Bible-based Christian church are vital to your new life.  If you did pray the prayer of salvation, or if you have any other questions, drop me a comment or e-mail me and let me know.  .....
